    We are working with an established Machines Manufacturing company based in Saltash, UK. 
     
    Due to continuing growth, they are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join their team.
     
    Our Client was born, with a belief that automating the process would lead to a safer, more consistent and efficient way of producing quality composites. Pioneering the ‘Direct Infusion’ process, they started to make their own machines, bringing to the market simple to use machines that could achieve ground-breaking results.
    These very machines have been described as ‘the Mercedes in the market’, giving customers ultimate control over the entire composite process. Their machines have enabled the manufacture of the hull of a large ocean-going luxury yacht, the world’s first single-mould helicopter, the world’s largest wind propeller blades… to name a few.
    Since the inception, the team has grown in line with the reputation worldwide. Their team is built on expertise, all united in the ethos ‘we do serious things, but always whilst having fun’.     Key Responsibilities include:
    • To design electrical systems processes and equipment for the closed moulding composite process.
    • To provide technical assistance to client companies and the internal business development team regarding machinery, electrical or automated equipment and processes.
    • Research and create design concepts.
    • Draft design drawings and specifications using appropriate software.
    • Research and identify solutions for equipment and process project work.
    • Make recommendations regarding design specifications to ensure equipment and processes match client requirements.
    • Ensure all drawing added to MRP system and new parts numbers created as required.
    • Produce all supporting documentation.
    • Provide in-house hands-on support with build, commissioning and testing of equipment.
    • On-site building, commissioning and testing of equipment.
    • Provide training to client’s engineers and operators.
    • Provide clear professional competent support to clients via telephone and email correspondence.
    • Provide technical support to assist colleagues with sales enquiries and quotations.
    • Creation of technical drawings to assist with feasibility/ ROM cost quoting for clients.
    • Accurate completion of BOM’s, time sheets and all project related associated documentation.
    • Provide client support with technical equipment enquires and product development discussions.
    • Maintain technical expertise and knowledge including of emerging technologies, processes and techniques.
    • Report to/update Directors on current projects as required.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant Health and Safety standards, policies and procedures (CI, UK or International).
     
    Requirements:
    • You deliver projects on time, to quality and to cost as a result of your own performance.
    • You design equipment that progresses smoothly through the build and test stages with no issues.
    • You communicate effectively and build lasting relationships with customers and suppliers.
    • You proactively provide high quality technical support to both customers and colleagues.
    • You produce innovative and practical design solutions and implement them to completion.
     
    Desirable Requirements:
     
    Qualifications, Training, Knowledge and Skills:
    • Relevant engineering degree or 1 year in a relevant engineering experience.
    • Proficient in relevant design software - AutoCAD.
    • Computer literate including Microsoft Office and general database usage.

    • A completer finisher, who scrutinises for errors, and ensures work is to the highest standards.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and clearly articulate technical information.
    • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to priorities work and manage multiple tasks and projects when needed.
    • Confident with the ability to listen, ask questions and take the initiative where needed, challenge and raise issues or opportunities when they occur or are identified. Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Adaptable and flexible.
    • The ability to work confidentially with sensitive commercial information.
    • A collaborative mindset but equally happy to work on one’s own initiative.
    • A strong desire for lifelong learning with a desire to maintain technical knowledge and seek out emerging engineering trends and concepts.
    • Willingness to travel/work independently worldwide.
    • Passport and Driving Licence.
