    • Up to £75.000 + Benefits
    • Direct Reports: 4 Production Technicians + 3 Engineers 
     
    We are working with an established Machines Manufacturing company based in Warwickshire, UK. 
    They are recruiting for an Engineering Manager to join their team.
    In return for a salary in the region £60.000 - £75.000 along with excellent employment benefits.
     
    The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and developing the site engineering team while remaining actively involved in day-to-day engineering activities.
    This is a hands-on role, requiring strong electrical expertise and the ability to respond to machinery breakdowns, fault-finding, and continuous improvement activities on the shop floor.
    The role combines technical leadership with practical engineering support to ensure maximum machine uptime, safety, and operational efficiency.
     
    Key Responsibilities include:
     
    Engineering & Maintenance
    • Provide hands-on engineering support across production machinery and site services
    • Lead fault-finding and repair of electrical, mechanical, and control system breakdowns
    • Support preventative and planned maintenance schedules
    • Ensure rapid response to breakdowns to minimise downtime
    • Work directly on machinery, installations, upgrades, and modifications
     
    Team Leadership & Management
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 5 engineers
    • Allocate workload and prioritise engineering tasks effectively
    • Conduct toolbox talks, performance reviews, and ongoing skills development
    • Lead by example through active involvement on the shop floor
     
    Continuous Improvement
    • Identify and implement improvements to equipment reliability and performance
    • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions following recurring faults
    • Drive best practices in maintenance standards and engineering processes
    • Health, Safety & Compliance
    • Ensure all engineering activities comply with health & safety regulations
    • Promote a strong safety culture within the engineering team
    • Ensure machinery and systems comply with relevant legislation and standards
     
    Liaison & Communication
    • Work closely with Production, Operations, and other departments
    • Communicate clearly with stakeholders during breakdowns and improvement projects
    • Support contractors and external suppliers where required
     
    Requirements:
     
    Essential:
    • Strong electrical engineering background (electrical bias preferred)
    • Proven experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
    • Hands-on experience with machinery, breakdowns, and fault-finding
    • Experience leading or supervising an engineering team
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
     
    Desirable:
    • Electrical qualifications (NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or equivalent)
    • PLC fault-finding experience
    • Experience with continuous improvement or lean manufacturing principles
    • Personal Attributes
    • Practical, hands-on approach — not desk-based
    • Calm under pressure during breakdown situations
    • Strong leadership presence on the shop floor
    • Organised, proactive, and results-driven
    • Able to motivate and develop others
