HR Officer
We are working with an established Machines Manufacturing company based in Manchester, UK.
They are recruiting for a HR Officer to join their team.
In return for a salary in the region £30.000 - £35.000 along with excellent employment benefits.
Key Responsibilities include:

Employee Relations: Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on HR policies, practices, and employment law. Handle employee grievances, investigations, disciplinary procedures, and conflict resolution. Escalate when needed to the HR Director.

Recruitment & Selection: Manage the recruitment process, including job postings on Sage HR and externally, screening CVs, contacting candidates, organising interviews, and onboarding new employees. Work with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop job descriptions.

HR Administration: Maintain and update employee records, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with GDPR. (Offer letters, contracts, job descriptions), Prepare HR documentation such as contracts, offer letters, and employment changes. Data entry- maintaining accuracy of Employee allocation planner - holidays/ absence.

Performance Management: Assist in the implementation and monitoring of performance appraisal systems. Support managers with performance reviews, setting objectives, and managing underperformance.

Training & Development: Help managers identify training needs and coordinate relevant training programmes. Ensure that employees have access to development opportunities to enhance their skills and careers. ( responsibility divided by 3 people)

Compliance: Ensure all HR activities comply with UK employment law and company policies. Stay updated on legislative changes and recommend policy updates as needed. Advising all managers during quarterly management meeting of employment law changes, and potential risks.

HR Projects: Participate in and manage HR-related projects as assigned by the HR Director, such as EOS improvement projects, implementation of new IT platforms.

Absence Management: Monitor and manage employee absence, advising managers on trigger points, ensuring appropriate actions are taken in line with company policy. Advise on and manage long-term sick leave and support return-to-work processes.

Health & Safety: Work closely with the Health & Safety manager to ensure the workplace meets legal health and safety requirements. Assist with risk assessments and the implementation of safety policies.

HR Reporting: Prepare monthly HR reports and statistics as required by the HR Director, as well as data for the state of the nation.

HRIS: Main administrator of Sage HR: onboarding – announcement - data records - annual leave - in lieu days
Payroll:
-
Processing of payrolls, ensuring accurate calculations of all payments and deductions. (4 - 5 weekly payroll processes and 1 monthly payroll process)

Checking and processing timesheets for accuracy and completeness.

Payroll reporting to meet internal and statutory obligations. (FPS, SAP Journal)

Processing the company pension schemes according to auto enrolment legislation.

Preparing and issuing all relevant periodic or occasional payroll documentation such as P60s, P45s and P11Ds according to HMRC or other deadlines.

Keeping up to date with any legislation changes

Assistance where required to the year-end audit process.

General maintenance of payroll records for completeness and accuracy.

This position is commutable from: Manchester, Bolton, Rochdale, Warrington, Stockport and St. Helens.
