Our Client is a long-established, family-owned UK packaging manufacturer that specialises in bespoke corrugated packaging solutions for eCommerce, retail, and distribution businesses.
We are seeking an experienced and Maintenance Engineer to join a growing team in Warminster.
The company is going through a period of growth, so ability to adapt, be inquisitive and work closely with peers is crucial to the success of this role.
The Maintenance Engineer plays a key role in the success of the maintenance & smooth running of the machinery in the production department.
The post holder is responsible for ensuring maximum reliability & up time with scheduled maintenance managed in a proactive manner.
Key Responsibilities include:

Monitor and supply mechanical and electrical support to machine operators for machine set-up & changeovers to ensure that products conform to quality assurance standards, whilst ensuring changeovers are as efficient as possible.

Liaise with line manager to ensure that all production and maintenance requirements are undertaken.

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance to ensure maximum efficiency of the production process.

Fault finding diagnosis and repair.

Complete all work instructions in an efficient manner.

Specific responsibility for electrical and electronic repairs to primary manufacturing machinery.

Maintenance and general housekeeping of the equipment, including mechanical machine repair as in when required and upkeep of the building and its facilities to comply with legislation and company procedures.

Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.

Give advice, training and recommendations to the production team regarding improvements to the process to maximise machine productivity and minimise down-time.

Ensure that all necessary documentation is up to date and complete

Work closely with the production team to develop a dynamic and positive attitude to deal with the challenges of a busy production department.

Responsibilities also involve improving and maintaining a safe working environment, ensuring that the team members are fully aware and comply with all Health and Safety standards, company process and procedures.
Continuous Improvement:

Communicating with all other Departments at all levels ensuring information is passed efficiently and correctly.

Instil a culture of continuous improvement and team working by recommending and supporting improvement initiatives that develop team performance and encourage the continuous improvement culture within the team.
Compliance:

Abide by the company’s environmental and quality management procedures.

Using, iAuditor ensure quality checks are made regularly and that service and product quality meets or exceeds the standards set.

Responsible for maintaining cleanliness, tidiness and a safe working environment ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and industry guidelines and the H&S site policies.
Health & Safety:

To ensure the standards of operation for all areas are met in full.

To assist in the implementation of policies and procedures.

To comply with the Health and Safety standards as laid down in its manuals.
Irregular Duties:

To attend meetings whenever necessary.

To attend training sessions whenever necessary.

Any other reasonable request from other departments or colleagues.
Requirements:
-
Ideally City & Guilds trained with an HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.

Adaptable technician with experience working with motors, drives and controllers, ideally within the packaging industry.

Demonstrable experience in mechanical skills working with Dongfang Printing, Enpro and Bobst machines.

Possess fault finding and rectification skills.
-
Strong analysis skills and attention to detail.
-
Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
-
Excellent communication skills, both internally and externally.
-
The ability to work well in a team of production operatives.
-
Must also be self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure.

Flexible when required to accommodate shift rotations.
Benefits:

Starting salary of £44.000 with increase to £46.000 after successful probation at 3 months

Overtime is often available; this is paid at 1.5x after they you completed contracted weekly hours

30 days annual leave (BH incl.), increasing 1 day per year for 3 years after 2 years continuous service (33 days after 5 years).

After 6 months, eligible for the quarterly bonus, which is based on a % of your salary
