Senior Electrical Design Engineer
We are working with an established Manufacturing company based in Newton Aycliffe, UK. They are recruiting for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their team. In return for a salary in the region £45.000 - £55.000 along with excellent employment benefits.
The primary purpose of the Senior Electrical Design Engineer is to assist the Engineering Manager in the efficient running of the electrical section. The role extends beyond traditional engineering tasks, as you will actively contribute to shaping and refining the electrical section to enhance functionality and productivity.
Key Responsibilities include:

Lead the design and development of conveyor systems to specified brief.

Provide support and guidance to direct reports when required.

Manage direct reports workload, ensuring outputs are delivered on time and within budget.

Ensure the quality and consistency of direct reports outputs (drawings, documentation, etc.)
-
Assist in the development of processes to improve efficiency and project delivery.

Produce technical drawings in accordance with company CAD standards.
-
Produce technical documentation in accordance with company standards.
-
Carry out technical analysis of designs with a view to improving DfMA and system functionality.

Ensure design compliance with project brief, relevant standards, and regulations.

Manage drawings, bill of materials, and technical documents using company systems.

Provide support to other areas of the business when engineering knowledge is required.

Undertake site visits and surveys to support successful delivery of projects.
Requirements:

Good 2D CAD software knowledge (EPLAN preferred) (essential)

Basic 3D CAD software knowledge (Autodesk Inventor preferred) (desirable)

Excellent knowledge of drafting standards and technical drawing (essential)

Good PDM system knowledge (Autodesk Vault preferred) (desirable)

Excellent understanding of the design process, and its associated documentation (essential)

Excellent understanding of electrical design principles (essential)

Good understanding of mechanical design principles (desirable)
-
Excellent knowledge of electrical control panel design and associated hardware (essential)

Excellent knowledge of PLC’s, MCC’s, HMI’s (essential)

Excellent knowledge of conveyor systems and associated hardware (desirable)

Excellent understanding of Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) (essential)

Good understanding of checking the work of direct reports (designs, drawings, docs) (essential)

Qualified in a relevant design or engineering discipline (HNC, degree, etc.) (essential)

Good knowledge of workload and project planning (desirable)

Proficient at using Microsoft Office applications (essential)

Ability to clearly communicate design ideas (essential)

Ability to supervise, manage, and mentor direct reports (essential)

Ability to cope with the pressure of deadlines (essential)

Ability to manage own workload & work on multiple projects (essential)
