    Technical Sales Person – Home Based

    • Up to £48.000 + Car/ Car Allowance
     
    We are working with an established Machines Manufacturing company based in Maidstone, UK. 
    They are recruiting for a Home-Based Technical Sales Person to join their team. In return for a salary in the region £45.000 - £48.000 along with excellent employment benefits.

    Our client is a fast-growing and successful engineering company with a full order book of projects throughout sectors such as Automotive, Aerospace, Packaging and Foundry Pattern Making.
     
    Key Responsibilities include:
    • There will be extensive contact with customers, primarily by telephone, conference/ TEAMs calls and e-mail, but it will involve some customer meetings both in our facility and on-site visits.
    • We are looking for someone who can provide a high-quality customer experience and maintain working relationships even during challenging commercial scenarios.
    • You will be responding to sales leads, organising quotations, sales information, demonstrations, samples and evaluations, and recording sales processes.
    • Maintain and grow the business with existing major accounts and management of new sales leads, including qualification, response, recording and follow up with the objective of securing purchase orders.
    • Liaise with technical colleagues from design and projects to assist in the generation of accurate, larger scale quotations against RFQ.
    • Take part in monthly sales meetings
     
    Key Requirements:
    • Experience – a proven track record in a successful business-to-business sales environment, preferably to Tier 1 customers
    • Technical – must have an engineering qualification
    • Professional demeanour and attitude, outgoing and friendly
    • Organised, focussed, sales driven
    • Excellent telephone manner – be comfortable using the telephone as a proactive sales tool
    • Good computer skills
    • Effective written and oral communication skills – to maintain sound relationships with customers, sales partners and colleagues
    • Earn and maintain mutual respect with fellow employees; Take the initiative in keeping others informed on matters of mutual interest.
    • Whilst a technical background is required, the most important quality is an ability and willingness to learn about and understand our products
    • You should have the confidence to use your own initiative, and to seek out opportunities to improve products, processes and services
    • Enjoy working as part of a sales-driven team
    • Credibility and reliability – make realistic commitments and live up to them.
    • Meet deadlines
    • Actively seek guidance and information from available sources
     
    Desirable requirements:
    • The role will require travel within the UK, Europe and possibly further afield.
    • You will sell the services, machines and equipment to existing and potential, new customers, predominantly within an agreed geographic territory.
    • The role entails both commercial and technical aspects of the sales process so technical experience is essential, ideally with automotive and/ or aerospace engineering, including machinery manufacture such as jigs and fixtures and production tooling.
    • You should have a good knowledge of assembly fixtures, inspection equipment and mould design with forming and lamination tooling and upholstery design experience also an advantage.
    • Experience managing customer expectations with the companies best financial interests in mind.
    • Background in pneumatics, hydraulics and electronics being a further advantage.
