    We are working with an established System Integrator company based in Nottingham, UK. 

     

    They are recruiting for a Technical Specialist/ Senior Field Service Engineer to join their team.

    In return for a salary up to £65.000 along with excellent employment benefits.

    As part of ongoing expansion, they are looking for an experienced and skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team in Nottingham.

    The successful candidate will provide engineering support across the customer base, supporting the development of maintenance schedules, product improvements, commissioning and critical breakdown support.

    The primary responsibility of the Technical Specialist will be to provide technical support and technical training in Automated Material Handling Equipment (AMHE), to both customer teams and across the Group.

    The position will also be responsible for providing leadership and support of continuous improvement activities to deliver equipment performance and reliability improvements.

     

     

     

    Key Responsibilities include:

    • Provide in-depth knowledge and experience in AMHE technologies
    • Provide technical support to all customer sites
    • Produce and deliver training to engineers in AMHE systems
    • Support sites with maintenance and repairs when needed
    • Produce safety and technical documentation
    • Provide advice and support
    • Continuous Improvement and RCA projects across different sites
    • Analyse data and find solutions to improve AMHE performance
    • Conduct technical audits to identify training and technical gaps on the teams; create and agree on a plan to fill those gaps
    • Utilise prior expertise to involve global partners and suppliers in technology innovation
    • Develop and implement engineering solutions in-house and with suppliers to improve equipment performance
    • Perform analysis and evaluations for technical improvements to equipment

     

     

     

    Requirements:

     

      • Exceptional technical & experienced hands-on ability relating to software, automation and controls
      • Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship, HNC, or equivalent qualification in Engineering
      • Experience of working with automated material handling systems
      • Experience of working at height
      • A working understanding of Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic technical manuals & drawings
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
      • Ability to work in a time critical environment
      • Experience in teaching and mentoring others in technical subjects
      • Proven competence in H&S
      • PC literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
      • Demonstrable understanding of the principles of excellent customer service
      • Driving license
      • Ability to travel nationally, including prolonged periods at customer sites as/ if required

     

     

     

    Desirable Qualifications and skills:

    • Experience of PLC (Siemens and/ or Beckhoff), Profibus/ASI communications
    • Experience of robotics
    • NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent
    • Experience of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
    • Lean Six Sigma experience
    • Working knowledge of PUWER and LOLER
