Key Responsibilities include:
  • Securing orders according to the company sales strategy regarding industry, scope of supply, margin and internal capability & capacity

Requirements:
  • You will ideally have a Technical/Vocational diploma or degree in electrical or automation engineering or equivalent.
  • You will have demonstrable experience working on turnkey automation and controls projects with time, cost and quality responsibilities.
  • You will have a good knowledge of control system design, including a solid foundation in electrical design and PLC, SCADA and networking configuration.
  • Preferably, you will have a range of experience with Rockwell, Siemens, and Wonderware InTouch.
  • Reaching across all these disciplines, you will be able to create a concept, develop an estimate, prepare a written proposal, and present it to the client. Many opportunities will be retrofits of older systems, so a good understanding of old versus new is important. Familiarity with the food processing industry is a strong advantage.
  • You will be experienced facing the customer and managing relationships across various levels of an organization.
  • Account management experience or Project Management would be beneficial. You will have the ability to interpret technical specification documents and extract relevant data for preparation of customer proposals.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • To design electrical systems processes and equipment for the closed moulding composite process.
  • To provide technical assistance to client companies and the internal business development team regarding machinery, electrical or automated equipment and processes.

Our Client is a long-established UK engineering manufacturer specialising in advanced pipework systems for industrial and building-services applications.
Founded in 1949, the company has built a strong reputation in thermoplastic and pre-insulated pipe technologies, particularly for heat networks, chemical drainage, and corrosion-resistant infrastructure solutions.
 
We are looking for a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer with strong mechanical and electrical skills to support the maintenance and improvement of our Client’s plastic pipe extrusion lines, plastic fabrication and tool making equipment.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with machinery, haul-offs, cutters, vacuum tanks, and downstream equipment used in the production of plastic pipes (e.g., HDPE, PPR, PP) and plastic fabrications.
 
Key Responsibilities include:
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and breakdown repairs on plastic pipe extrusion lines and associated equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with extruders, vacuum tanks, haul-offs, cutters, coilers, and other downstream systems.
  • Ensure quick diagnosis and repair of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.
  • Assist with equipment setups, commissioning, and continuous improvement projects to enhance machine performance and reduce downtime.
  • Monitor machine performance and work with production teams to minimize waste and optimize efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records using maintenance logs, including fault tracking and spare parts usage.
  • Read and interpret technical documentation, wiring diagrams, pneumatic/hydraulic schematics, and machine manuals.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Contribute to ongoing root cause analysis, OEE improvements, and reliability engineering initiatives.
  • Building Maintenance, to include but not limit to, lighting, power supplies and basic plumbing.
 
Requirements:
  • Recognized qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND).
  • Proven experience in maintaining and troubleshooting plastic pipe extrusion or automated machinery (e.g., single screw extruders, vacuum sizing tanks, haul-offs, cutting equipment would be advantageous).
  • Strong fault-finding skills on PLC-based control systems, motors, sensors, and variable speed drives (VSDs).
  • Understanding of hydraulic/pneumatic systems, cooling/chiller circuits, and pipe sizing equipment.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, continuous production environment.
  • Familiar with safe working practices and risk assessments.
 
Desirable:
  • 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations (if electrical bias).
  • Experience with automation systems, PLC fault diagnosis (e.g., Siemens, Allen Bradley).
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, TPM, or continuous improvement tools.
  • Previous experience in the plastic pipe manufacturing industry (e.g., water, gas, cable conduit) would be advantageous.

As part of ongoing expansion, they are looking for an experienced and skilled Senior Controls Engineer to join their dynamic team in Telford.
 
 
Key Responsibilities include:
  • To manage individual projects at an engineering level in line with the lead times and standards required by the client
  • To manage individual projects at a client level in line with the lead times and standards required by the client
  • To develop technical documents in line with the client requirements to the industry standard using technical features, diagrams and language
  • To develop bespoke software routines and functions to allow machines/ systems to function in a safe and controlled manor as required by the client or FDS
  • To implement systems software standard where required while developing software for the business
  • To develop safety software for use on any systems where safety controllers are to be used; In line with BS-EN13849
  • To ensure systems are correctly tested and quality checked prior to shipping
  • To ensure all aspects of bespoke software is tested to the required degree prior to systems shipping and commissioning
  • To commission bespoke systems onsite within the UK and from time to time overseas in line with all relevant standards
  • To be capable of working away onsite during the working week. Please note: not all site work requires the candidate to stay away if travel door to door is less than 1.5 hours. Where staying away is required all hotel bills are carried by the employer directly and shall not fall to the employee.

  • Data blocks (Siemens)
  • Strong understanding of HMI screen development
  • Onsite commissioning experience of industrial automation Conveyor control
  • Machine interfaces and machine sequential logic
  • Safety controllers
  • Drive configuration and motor control (does not need to be servo control)
  • Strong understanding of Profinet, Ethernet and Profibus industrial communications systems
  • Ability to work away within the UK on sites as part of a controls team under the direction of the control systems project management
  • Very good communication skills with technical analysis and feedback required in daily reports
 
Desirable Requirements:
  • The candidates should be qualified at level 4 as a minimum requirement where this can be in either Electrical or Electro-Mechanical
  • Full UK driving license with no more than 3 penalty points
  • English speaking only with a good use of technical English
